Chubby Unicorns

Happy belated #WorldRhinoDay! I got to visit with these sweet beasts just outside of Cape Town in 2012 and 2016. Their horns were poached in the middle of the night on their small, private, not-that-remote game reserve in 2011. Their sheltered location and proximity to town, which made the attack that much bolder, also meant the animals were quickly rescued and treated. They have since made a full recovery, but their wild counterparts are almost never so lucky.
